Feature highlight: Task stop type

WHAT’S NEW

We've introduced a new stop type – a task. This generic type will soon be available to all tenants alongside pickup and drop-off types. Additionally, it’s now configurable which stop types each service supports.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT

For many operators, stops don't involve picking up or dropping off items – they're just locations where a task needs to be performed at. Or a worker simply needs to return to a hub or take a break. In these cases, labeling a stop as pickup or drop-off creates confusion for both customers and workers. With the new task stop type, we've made MotionTools more suitable for a wider range of service models. Together with introducing a task stop type, we've made stop type labels configurable and localizable. If you don’t deliver goods but drop-off passengers, you can now easily use the language you prefer.

WHAT’S NEXT

Tailoring service configurations to match the reality of a diverse set of business models and operational setups will remain a priority in 2025. This initiative will expand in multiple directions – from more granular control over service availability times to fine-tuned algorithms for distributing new requests among the workforce.

More features and updates

Advanced geofencing

We've enhanced the geofencing feature to allow default radius settings per service and stop type. These values automatically apply when customers create new bookings. You can now also set an auto-arrival radius – when drivers enter this radius, the Driver app will automatically mark the stop as "arrived". To activate the geofencing feature, reach out to our Customer Success team.

Service area in Driver apps

The latest Driver app version shows the service area on the map when drivers are not on active tours. This helps them stay within boundaries and avoid missing tour requests or arriving late when accidentally leaving the service area.

Billing email address

We've added a dedicated billing email address field to customer accounts. When provided, invoices will be sent to this address instead of the sign-up address.

Uploading additional details in all statuses

We've relaxed restrictions on uploading additional information like images, documents, and text notes to stops, bookings, and tours. Previously, users could only upload these details before drivers completed their work. Now, they can add information anytime, regardless of stop, bookings, or tour status.
