What is an Operator?
An Operator is a MotionTools customer who uses the platform as their operating system to manage transportation and logistics services.
An operator typically performs the operational tasks directly through their own workforce of Drivers. While operators may outsource some or all of the work to third parties, they’re still the operator as long as they manage and coordinate all operational activities.
Each operator has their own tenant of MotionTools, which reflects the specifics of the services they offer to their customers. The operator's Owners and Managers typically have the Admin user role, granting them the platform's highest level of permissions.
Most of the articles in this help center are written from the standpoint of an operator. When the term "customer" is used, we typically refer to the customer of that operator. The same applies to other roles like Dispatchers and Drivers.
