Our web-based Dashboard and mobile Driver App
A typical workflow in MotionTools
Creating a Booking
The journey starts with a Booking β a request from a Customer to complete a Service. Our Booking Manager features help you to handle all incoming bookings and ensure data accuracy from the start. You can create bookings through our Webbooker, either directly or on behalf of a customer, or through third-party systems like online shops.
A Booking includes one or more Stops and may contain Packages. A Stop is a location-based task, typically involving pickup or delivery of an item or person. Each Stop can also include additional tasks like completing checklists or collecting signatures. Packages are individually trackable items within the booking.
Dispatching and monitoring the operations
Bundling bookings into routes β called Tours in MotionTools β and assigning them to Drivers is called Dispatching. Our Dispatch Tools let you manually build and assign basic tours while serving as an operations control tower. This helps your Dispatchers monitor and manage all business activities in real time.
Planning complex Routes
In addition to basic tour building, you can use our Route Planner to create complex routes for a larger workforce automatically or manually. The Route Planner helps you identify eligible bookings and plan multiple tours simultaneously while respecting your specific optimization criteria.
Executing Tours and Managing the Workforce
Our intuitive Driver App helps drivers complete their tours and tasks reliably and streamlines workforce management. It tracks the work time and location of your workforce in real time to provide you and your customers with accurate status updates. Custom workflows, checklists, and proof of completion collection ensure consistent service quality from pickup to drop-off.
The app guides drivers through their tasks with turn-by-turn navigation and provides a clear visual overview of their upcoming tours and booking history. Real-time notifications ensure they stay informed of any important changes.
Communicating with Customers
The Customer Portal is a self-service platform that keeps your customers engaged throughout the journey. Customers can create their own bookings through our Webbooker or use standard integrations β like the Shopify App β to import orders automatically. They can track deliveries in real time, access their booking history, and view proof of completion documents. Through the Public tracking page, customers can even share the status of individual stops with their own customers.
How MotionTools adapts to your business
MotionTools offers extensive configuration options to match each operator's unique needs. You can e.g. customize customer-facing Services, Service areas, Prices, and operating hours. The platform also lets you define dispatching rules and automation preferences for incoming bookings based on the service type. You can find more information and guides in the Business Setup Collection here in the Help Center.
While it is possible to work with our Software in a fully self-serving way, we also provide onboarding support and a professional services program to help configure the platform to your requirements and build customizations using our API.
