This article provides an overview of the Webbooker module.

Overview


Introduction

The Webbooker is a user-friendly web app that dispatchers and customers can use to book a Service.

Using the Webbooker helps digitalize your incoming booking requests, reducing manual effort and phone/email coordination. It ensures bookings are submitted with complete and validated data, creating a streamlined experience that supports accuracy in all subsequent processes – from dispatch to invoicing.


Creating a Booking

When creating a booking via the Webbooker, users can:

  • Choose a Customer (when booking on behalf of a customer)

  • Choose a Service (only if multiple services are offered)

  • Define pickup and drop-off locations, with contact and additional details, as well as pickup and drop-off time

  • Select a Capability (e.g. the vehicle type)

  • Add additional information (such as notes, order images or documents)

  • Add a voucher (if enabled)

  • Choose a payment method (if payments is enabled)

  • Receive a final or estimated price based on the pricing configuration of the service

Guest mode

The Webbooker offers a Guest mode that provides a low-barrier introduction to offered services and their prices (if enabled) for potential customers. Guest customers can go through the full booking process without needing to register.

Once they want to confirm and place the booking, they are prompted to create an account. The information they’ve already entered is saved and carried over, so they can complete the booking without starting over.

Contact our support team if you’d like to enable a Guest mode on your Webbooker.


Configuration options

Display options

Show or hide map

By default, the Webbooker displays a map on the right side of the screen. However, for some services, the map may not be necessary, and it can be more useful to give the input fields additional space. To support this, we offer the option to hide the map by default, which centers the content. If you’d like the map to be hidden by default, please contact our support team to enable this setting for your service.

Regardless of the default setting, the map toggle button is always available to users. This ensures that even when the map is hidden by default, users can still access and display it when needed.

Gradual reveal

By default, all input fields in the Webbooker are displayed simultaneously on the screen. However, to create a more streamlined and focused booking experience, you have the option to implement a gradual reveal of input fields. This means that fields appear progressively as users complete the booking process, making the interface less overwhelming. Please contact our support team to enable this.

Capability Layout options

The layout of Capabilities in the Webbooker helps to create a seamless and user-friendly experience. That’s why we offer multiple layout options to present your service optimally to customers during the booking process.

Classic Layout

This layout presents capabilities horizontally from left to right, with an optional "info" icon (i) next to each option.

Clicking the icon opens a popover that provides more details about the capability. This layout is ideal for presenting straightforward options in a clean, horizontal format.

Vertical Stack

In this layout, capabilities are displayed in a vertical list. Customers can expand or collapse each capability to view additional information. This format is particularly useful for presenting detailed descriptions or when there are a lot of capability options to select from.

Dropdown

You can also choose to present capabilities in a dropdown menu format. When a user selects a capability option that has an additional description available, an "i" button appears next to the dropdown. Users can click this icon to view more details about their selected option, ensuring they have access to all necessary information while maintaining a simplified interface.
