Feature highlight: Managed Capabilities feature

๐Ÿ†• What's new

We're introducing a "Managed capabilities" feature to give dispatchers control over driver capabilities. By default, drivers can manage their own capabilities as well as users with admin and org manager roles can set capabilities on behalf of drivers. This can now be configured to exclude org managers, as well as restrict drivers from overriding dispatchers' capability choices.

๐Ÿฆพ Why this is important

In some cases, explicit control over capabilities is required to maintain the correct flow of operations. When capabilities influence dispatching logic, it's critical that drivers work with the prescribed settings to prevent misrouting, ETA errors, and earnings miscalculations. Since capability choices have such a downstream impact, they canโ€™t always be left to individual driver discretion.

๐Ÿ”œ What's next

Driver capabilities, specifically, vehicle type, will continue to play a larger role across various dispatching processes. This month, weโ€™ve already started considering each driverโ€™s vehicle type in ETA calculations. Over the coming weeks, weโ€™ll expand this integration to further improve operational efficiency.

More features and updates

๐Ÿ“ˆ Performance improvements

We've made a series of performance-related updates throughout the system. The Operations page now loads noticeably faster, even with a large number of tours or drivers. We'll continue to refine and optimize the system to further improve speed and ensure a smooth experience.

๐Ÿš™ Using a specific vehicle type for ETA and route stats calculations

Previously, the vehicle type for ETA and route stats calculation was coming from the tenant level โ€“ one type was used for all calculations. We have changed that, and now we take the type from the tour capability if the driver is not yet assigned, or from the driver capability if assigned.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Restricting drivers from updating their profiles

The Restricted Profile feature controls drivers' ability to edit their Profile Details in the Driver app. When enabled for a tenant, drivers can only edit their profile until itโ€™s completed. This feature will be rolling out in the next weeks. Please contact the customer success team if you want to activate it.

๐Ÿ”Ž Enhanced Driver, Customer, and Saved Places filters

We've reworked the filters on the Dashboard to better support large numbers of items. Driver, Customer, and Saved Places filters now support search and pagination.

Deprecations

This month, we announce the following deprecations:

  • The package force-delivery transition via the generic transitions endpoint will be deprecated in August 2025. The transition is replaced with the dedicated endpoint.

  • The "Return to hub" tour attribute has been deprecated and will be removed in August 2025. Tours no longer explicitly indicate that the return to stop is required, which prevents such tours from merging or updating.
