Feature highlight: Driver ranking and gradual rollout

🆕 What's New

We’ve introduced a new way to assign drivers to tours. For each tour, drivers are getting ranked based on how suitable they are. The dispatch engine then gradually offers the tour to drivers, starting with the top-ranked drivers. As each preferred driver is notified, the tour becomes visible to more drivers until one accepts it. Learn more about the feature in this Help Center article.

🦾 Why this is Important

This approach to assigning ensures fairer access to tours while still prioritizing the best match. It improves the chances that the most suitable driver will accept the tour, rather than whoever responds the fastest.

🔜 What's Next

The next step is to focus on improving how driver suitability is calculated. The ranking system will start considering more factors, such as each driver’s capabilities.

More features and updates

📦 Support for self-collected packages

Packages can now be picked up directly from the hub. Dispatchers can mark a package as “Ready for collection” when a recipient requests pickup instead of delivery. Once collected, the package status is updated to “Collected”.

👀 Improved Package Journey on the Dashboard

The Package Journey tab on the Package details page has been updated to reflect recent improvements made to the public tracking page. This includes a cleaner design and clearer status descriptions.

➕ More flexibility with managing organizations

Restrictions around setting managing organizations have been relaxed. It’s now possible to add managing organizations to a tour even if there are preferred or active drivers from another organization.

📱Dropping support for iOS 15

The next version of the Driver app will no longer support iOS 15. This change allows development to focus on newer iOS features and maintain stronger performance and quality standards.

🌐 Webbooker widget

We’ve introduced an extension to the guest mode of the Webbooker. A new widget can be added to a website to estimate delivery price for a given route, with the option to continue to the Webbooker with addresses prefilled.
