Configure when customers can cancel a Booking

This article explains how to configure customer cancellation policies for bookings.

Overview


Introduction

Configurable booking cancellation policies give you greater control and flexibility over when customers can cancel their bookings. It also reduces operational overhead by eliminating the need for customers to contact support for cancellation requests.

Customers can instead go to the details page of a booking and hit the cancel button when permitted by the operator's policy.


Cancellation Options

In the Settings of your Dashboard, navigate to the Booking Services section. Click on the specific Booking Service you want to configure to open its details page, then select the Dispatching tab.

Under the Cancellation Policy section, you can choose from these four options:

  • Never

  • Before dispatching - Customers can cancel if no stops have been dispatched into a tour

  • Before approaching - Customers can cancel before driver starts approaching the first stop

  • Before arrival - Customers can cancel before driver arrives at the first stop

By default, Before dispatching is selected. Make sure to save your changes after making any adjustments.
