Introduction

The MotionTools Driver App tightly integrates with Intercom to enable support for your workforce directly within the driver app. It offers live chat, push notifications, AI support, automations, message history, support agent initiated conversations & driver profiles enriched with MotionTools data in your Intercom dashboard.


Benefits for Drivers

Contact support directly in the app

Drivers can contact support during a pickup and during a drop-off. They can open a live chat from multiple locations throughout the app:

  • from the side menu

  • active tour

  • chat bubble (only when there is a new incoming message).

Here’s what it looks like when you open Intercom and a chat in the Driver app:

Real-time notifications

Drivers receive real-time notifications of messages from support agents, whether the app is in the foreground (1) or not (2). In the side menu, they can also see the unread messages count.

See past support requests

Drivers can see all past support requests from the Driver app.

Access to Help Center

Drivers can browse the knowledge base directly from the intercom app (if you publish your own Help Center)


Benefits for Dispatchers/Support Agents

Connected driver profile

All active drivers will automatically get a profile in your Intercom system with their name, email and user id. Each driver profile in Intercom will have a link to their MotionTools profile, allowing support agents to easily match support tickets with ongoing tours and stops in just three clicks.

Contact drivers proactively

Support can proactively contact any driver if they notice something unusual via the MotionTools dashboard. The driver will receive a push notification on their device that deeplinks to a conversation window when clicked.

View conversation history

Conversation history with each driver is preserved, allowing support to review past tickets and identify recurring themes or problems for individual drivers.

Send targeted messages

You can use standard intercom features to segment drivers and and then send targeted messages to specific audiences

Automate interactions

You can use the workflow feature of intercom to automate your interactions with drivers


Setting up the integration

The Intercom integration is a paid extension only available on white-labelled instances of our Driver App. Contact your MotionTools representative if you’d like to enable it.
