Feature highlight: Custom sorting algorithm for pickable tours

Operators can now opt in to a custom sorting algorithm for the pickable tour list that drivers see in their apps. This algorithm uses a configurable formula to rank tours and create a personalized tour list for each driver.

🦾 Why this is Important

When prioritizing work for drivers, operators need to optimize revenue per hour per worker across their entire workforce while considering factors like promised delivery times, urgency, and proximity. Simple tour lists sorted only by pickup time or distance aren't sufficient here.

The new custom sorting algorithm creates a personalized tour list for each driver using a configurable formula with three key variables: the time difference between pickup time and current time, the driver's distance to the first stop, and the total tour distance. By adjusting the weights of these variables, operators can optimize ranking based on their business needs.

While the improved sorting for the pickable tour list helps drivers see the best tours for them first, we want to further increase the chances that the best-fitting driver for a tour will accept it. We're currently reworking a Preferred Driver feature to achieve this goal.

πŸ“¦ Updated Package Tracking page

The new Package Tracking page features improved design and more precise wording to reflect package status. The page now also displays the estimated delivery date and time and shows the location of a driver when they approach the package destination.

πŸ“ Saved Places display on the map

Dispatchers can now view all types of Saved places on the Dashboard maps, including customer places. Clicking on a place pin reveals Saved place details and a link to the Place page.

πŸ”— Custom buttons on the Booking and Tour Details pages

We've introduced an experimental feature that allows displaying custom buttons that can call any URL on the Booking and Tour Details pages. The button characteristics must be passed via metadata in a special format. Contact our customer success team if you'd like to try it out.

πŸ“Š Package tour statistics

In addition to distance and duration estimates, the Dashboard now displays package count and total package weight for each tour. This information is available on both Operations and Tour Details pages.
