In this article you learn how to create and manage a place as an Admin or a Customer. If you want to know what Places are, please read the Introduction Places article.

Overview

Create a Place

Open up the Places page in your Dashboard and click on the Create button.

General

Give the Place a unique Name so you can easily tell different locations apart. You can also mark it as a Hub, which is a central starting point for drivers (like a warehouse).

Location

Enter the full address (street, house number, postal code, city) or the exact coordinates (latitude and longitude). You can also add the location's specific name if it has one. This can be identical to the place name you already entered, but it doesn't have to be.

Contact Details

Here, you can enter the contact details (name, e-mail and phone number) of a person at the place. This information is visible to drivers and helps them to successfully complete a Stop.

You can also fill the fields with contact details of the user account you are currently logged in with.

Then, hit Save

Create a Place from the Webbooker

When creating a Booking in the Webbooker, you can save a stop location as a Place. Check ‘Save this location for future reuse’ and give the Place a name. Once you book, the Place will be saved.

Create a Place for Customers

You can also create a Place for your Customers. For that, open up the Customers page and click on the customer you want to create a place for.

Go to the Places section and create a Place as explained above.

Set working hours of a Place

After creating a Place, you can set its working hours. These hours automatically define the earliest and latest arrival times for stops. If no hours are set, the Place is considered as open 24/7.

Go to the Working hours page of a place and click + Add working hours.

In the modal that pops up, pick one or more days, and either select Open 24 hours or enter specific opening and closing times. Save when done.

Repeat the steps for any days that need different schedules.

If you want to delete working hours, click on the bin icon next to the entry. You currently can’t edit an entry. If you want to change working hours, delete the entry and create a new one.

Add Metadata to a Place

If you don’t know what Metadata is, please read the Metadata article first.

You can also add Metadata to a place, e.g. to store an external place ID, additional information about the place that should be shown to drivers or specific bonuses related to the place.

Go to the Metadata page of a place and click + Add Metadata.

In the modal that pops up, enter a Key and a Value and hit save.

If you want to edit or delete Metadata, click on the entry.

In the modal that appears, you can edit the values or click Delete to remove the Metadata.

Archive a Place

If you want to remove a place, you can archive it. On the Details page of a place, scroll to the bottom and click on Archive. Confirm the action on the modal that pops up.

This action cannot be undone. Once a place is archived, you won’t be able to restore it!
