Feature highlight: Booking and stop lifecycle events
🆕 What's new
We're introducing new webhook events for better visibility into booking and stop lifecycles. These events are published based on the underlying tours that complete booking stops. For example, we now notify when a booking becomes in progress, and we individually track each stop's arrival and completion.
🦾 Why this is important
The new webhooks give you clearer, instant updates on your bookings and stops as they happen. This means you can automate more tasks, monitor progress better, and make faster decisions. We've also added information like customer and external IDs, so you can easily track booking changes, work more efficiently, and provide a better experience for your customers.
🔜 What's next
We plan to continue expanding the webhook ecosystem, adding more events and more detailed event data to support advanced automation and analytics.
More features and updates
Support for External ID on places
We're introducing a dedicated place property for storing an external ID, for example, your system's unique place identifier. You can add the ID when creating a place or update it anytime later. Places can be searched and filtered by this ID.
Support for Place External ID when creating bookings
The Create Booking endpoint now supports Place matching via External ID. Provide a Place External ID for each stop, and the system will find the newest active place for that customer with the same ID. If found, it's used as-is. If not, a new place is created from the stop details.
Rich driver pins on Operations page
To provide richer visibility into fleet operations, the Operations page now displays enhanced driver pins that indicate both the driver’s status and their vehicle type profile. The icon on the pin represents the profile, the pin color shows whether the driver is available or busy - green for available and orange for busy.
Performance and stability improvements
We’ve made a series of performance and stability enhancements across the platform. These improvements reduce latency in key operations and increase reliability during high-load scenarios. Overall, these updates help ensure a smoother and more consistent experience for all MotionTools users.
