Feature highlight: Linking Saved Places to Service areas

πŸ†• What's new

We're rolling out linking between Saved Places and their service areas. This opens up new possibilities for better operations management.

🦾 Why this is important

By connecting places to service areas, we can show the right information in the right context. This starts with two immediate improvements: the Operations page will only display saved places for the selected service area (instead of showing all places everywhere), and drivers can now see relevant saved places on their map.

πŸ”œ What's next

We're building a dedicated Saved Places Dashboard page that will provide a complete overview of all places in the system – including both tenant places and customer places – with search and filtering capabilities to make places management even easier. We're also evaluating a concept of shared places that would allow customers to use places predefined by a tenant.

More features and updates

βš™οΈ Improved stacking algorithm based on actual routes

We've enhanced the stacking algorithm to use actual route distances instead of simple proximity rules. Rather than stacking based on distance between drop-offs or straight-line deviation, the algorithm now estimates the actual delivery route to determine if tours can be stacked while still meeting delivery deadlines. This creates more accurate stacking decisions and better delivery time estimates.

⚑ Dynamic tabs in the Driver app

The driver app will soon show different tabs based on the driver's current service area and the corresponding configuration. Depending on whether it supports scheduled tours, the app will show or hide the relevant tour lists (tour requests and claimed tours). This creates a cleaner interface tailored to what's actually available in each area.

⬇️ Improved CSV export for users, bookings, and tours

We've made CSV exports for users, bookings, and tours more reliable by running them asynchronously. This ensures all requested data is properly exported without timeouts or missing information, making it easier to get complete reports when you need them. There will still be an upper limit of 10.000 rows that can be exported within one download, however, this will now work reliably.

βž• Add metadata during booking and stop creation

Customers can now add metadata to bookings and stops while creating them, instead of having to add it afterward as a separate step. This makes the booking process more streamlined and ensures important details aren't missed. At the moment this is a feature for developers, that are implementing the MotionTools API. We also plan to offer options to add metadata in the customer portal when creating new bookings.

🚫 Hide additional information sections in the Webbooker

We've introduced an option to hide additional information sections (notes, images, and documents) from the Webbooker. This ensures customers only see fields that are relevant to the specific business needs, creating a cleaner and more focused booking experience. To configure this setting, please contact our Support team.

πŸ”Ž Improved customer search

The customer search functionality has been enhanced to include the company name from the user account profile in full-text search. Admins can now find customers not only by their personal details but also by entering the company name, making searches faster and more accurate.

πŸ“ˆ Analytics page enhancements

We’ve improved the Analytics – Split View page to make key data easier to access and interpret. Columns now follow priority order with three new additions: Total bookings, Cancelled bookings, and Outgoing tours (with customizable timeframe filters). Additionally, a new summary row has been added to aggregate all row values.

🧾 Option to disable automatic receipt generation

Tenants can now opt out of our platform’s default PDF receipt creation and rely fully on their chosen third-party billing tools. This update helps prevent duplicate receipts and supports flexibility in meeting local invoicing requirements. To disable automatic receipt generation, please contact our Support team.

πŸ‘€ View metadata in the driver and customer lists

Metadata now appears in the driver and customer lists on the Dashboard. Since metadata is searchable, this makes it easy to find drivers or customers based on custom information like shift details or other relevant data you've saved.

πŸ“¦ High-value flag for packages

Packages can now be marked as high-value during creation for customs purposes. This flag helps identify packages containing valuable goods that may require special handling or documentation.
