Feature highlight: Places feature upgrade
🆕 What's new
The Saved Places feature received its first major update, highlighting its importance in logistics operations. As part of this update, the “Saved” label was dropped, so the feature is now simply called Places. The place management section was moved from Settings to the main navigation bar for easier access, and new filters were added to improve usability.
🦾 Why this is important
Places are a key part of logistics operations and are used in nearly every operator setup. The dedicated dashboard section improves visibility and makes managing places easier, reflecting their importance also from a UX perspective.
🔜 What's next
Places will continue to be integrated across the platform, with future work focusing on shared Places and further enhancing their role in operations.
More features and updates
Pre-assigning organizations to service areas
Operators can now assign Organizations to specific service areas. Once configured, the assigned organizations are automatically added as managing organizations for any tours created in the corresponding area. This ensures that tours are distributed automatically, so each organization only handles the tours in its designated area. It helps streamline operations and makes managing multiple organizations easier.
Restricting drivers to specific service areas
Operators can now control which drivers can work in specific service areas, allowing for more granular supply management. This is particularly useful when working with fleet partners through the Organizations feature, where partners can onboard and manage their own workforce. If a driver goes online in an area where they’re not allowed to work, they’ll be treated as being outside any service area.
Viewing customer places on the Driver app map
When drivers are online but not on an active tour, they can now see nearby customer places directly on the map. The feature can be enabled in the Driver Experience settings on the Dashboard and helps in scenarios where drivers are expected to wait near specific locations, such as restaurants, for new tour requests.
Updating capabilities on bookings and tours
Admins and customers can now edit capabilities on bookings and admins additionally also on tours after creation. For bookings, updates are supported in the On Hold, Dispatched, and Partially Dispatched statuses, with customers limited to On Hold. For tours, updates are supported in the On Hold, Scheduled, and Pickable statuses.
Reworked Driver app
The driver app rework, announced a few months ago, is now in its final stages, with the updated app expected to roll out in the coming weeks. The new version offers operators more configuration options, making the app easier to tailor to different types of services. Key features include customizable labels on tour cards, controls for how many stops drivers see per card, map display options, and other customization features.
