A service area is used to map and define a region where the business operates and allows to define some additional characteristics about the business for this region.
Service areas help to validate bookings on creation e.g. to make sure they are within a certain region but also simplify the filtering and viewing of them. Additionally the timezone, currency, pricing and available payment options are managed on this level.
When using the Booking feature, service areas need to have a Scheduling configuration associated with it. This configuration further defines certain variables for bookings that are created in this service area such as valid times lots based on opening hours and also influences how the booking behaves, for example how early can a driver accept a booking.
A service area can be defined by uploading .json file or creating manually in the Dashboard. A Tenant can create an unlimited number of service areas. The list of all service areas can be found under Settings > Service areas.
