Overview
A service area is used to map and define a region where the business operates and allows to define some additional characteristics about the business for this region.
Service areas help to validate bookings and tours on creation e.g. to make sure they are within a certain region but also simplify the filtering and viewing of them. Additionally the timezone, currency, pricing and available payment options are managed on this level.
Services areas also driver the scheduling options and opening times of an operator. This is especially important when customer request a service by creating a booking. The start time of a booking needs to be in line with the operations config for the corresponding service area.
A service area can be defined by uploading .json file or creating manually in the Dashboard. An Operator can create an unlimited number of service areas. The list of all service areas can be found under Settings > Service areas.
