Pre-Assign Organizations to a Service Area

This article explains how to assign organizations to service areas and how MotionTools uses these assignments to automatically set managing organizations on tours.

Overview


Introduction

You can assign organizations to specific service areas to control where each organization is allowed to operate. This is particularly useful when working with multiple fleet partners that serve different regions.

Key benefits:

  • Control supply and demand across different regions

  • Automatic management of tour assignments

  • Clear visibility of which organizations serve which areas


How it works

When a tour is created in a service area with assigned organizations, MotionTools automatically adds those organizations as managing organizations on the tour. This ensures only drivers from assigned organizations can see and accept the tour.

  • An organization can work in multiple service areas

  • A service area can be served by multiple organizations

  • Organizations that were set before (e.g. manually) wonโ€™t be removed


Assign organizations from the Service Area Details page

Use this method when you've created a new service area and want to configure which organizations can work there.

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Service areas

  2. Click on the service area you want to configure

  3. Go to the Organizations tab

  4. Toggle on the organizations you want to assign to this service area


Assign service areas from the Organization Details page

Use this method when a new organization joins and you want to configure which service areas they can serve.

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Organizations

  2. Click on the organization you want to configure

  3. Go to the Service areas section

  4. Toggle on the organizations you want to assign to this service area
